Joseph Marlborough lost the $1 million prize but won something better: souls for Jesus.
On the runner-up team on Netflix series Outlast intense survivalist show, the “elite hog hunter” from Lafayette, Louisiana, inevitably shared his faith in Christ with other members on Team Delta. Thousands of messages came in after airing.
“Hey man, you helped me find my way back to my faith,” said one. “You helped me forgive my uncle that molested me,” another said. “You helped me come back to God. I used to be an atheist,” said a third.
With Proverbs 3:5-6 inscribed on jacket, Joseph survived in the extreme Alaskan wilderness for 32 days, but his team got beat out by Team Bravo, who won the last day race and fire-building competition to claim the $1M prize.

Joseph is a mechanic and lover of the outdoors from Louisiana. He was just being his normal self, injecting God into conversations, praying around the campfire, showing Christian ethic on personal frictions. When Joey joined their team, tempers flared, but Joseph encouraged the “aggravating” new member.
“Me being the man of God and trying not to judge, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, even though I don’t want to,” Joseph said. “I believe in forgiveness. That’s just the way of my life.”
