With ministries around the world, globetrotting preacher Arch Bonnema noticed that lots of poverty women were begging or falling into prostitution.
He bought sewing machines and set up a training center.
“We bought 20 sewing machines and started a center where older women would teach them how to make things they could sell,” Arch says. “We gave each woman material, thread, scissor and measuring tape to start.”
A machine and material costs $150. That’s a tiny price to save a woman from the worldwide scourge of what is essentially sex slavery. A single mom can feed her kids with honest labor.
The setup also allows Arch’s team to give the Gospel. Hundreds of women have learned to earn their living in India, Nepal, other countries. If you would like to buy a sewing machines, make donations to:

Arch is a financial professional selling gold and silver and setting up trusts. Much of the money he makes he pours into ministry around the world.
“I don’t have any idea on the number of sewing machines I’ve given,” he says. “For 40 years, it was just my wife and I. There was no one to report to, no reason to keep track of anything except for my own glory, and I don’t need that. We built more than 100 buildings, schools, orphanages, widows homes, churches, medical clinics, retirement homes.”
He also hasn’t tracked numbers of converts.
“I’m sure we’ll meet a lot of people in Heaven,” he says.
So far, Arch has no website because he funded it with his own money, he says. Only in recent years have people pitched in.
