Called the first large-scale crusade in Portland in 25 years, an event sponsored by Athey Creek Church in the Moda Center reports more than 3,200 salvations.
“We live in a town where darkness is all around us. If you live here, you feel it, how desperately people need to believe in Jesus that they may find hope,” said Pastor Brett Meador. “We need to see our town, our city and our whole country come out of the darkness and into the light.”
This crusade is significant because the Pacific Northwest has been called the least-churched region in the United States. It’s home to tech titans who are inventing their own godless spirituality (Burning Man) and a new morality of progressive ideals.

Portland and Seattle are hotbeds for Antifa. On June 25, Antifa shut down a worship outreach staged in Seattle by Ross Johnston, throwing water balloons filled with urine and beating up Christians in Cal Anderson Park, a mecca for LGTBQ. After the death of George Floyd in June 2020, Antifa set up it own autonomous city CHAZ and kicked out police (who say they withdrew as a de-escalation tactic). Police cleared CHAZ on July 1 after two homicides inside.
More than 35,000 people attended the so-called PDX Crusade in Portland in early August. KLOVE radio reported this was the first such “crusade” event in the city in more than 25 years. The attendance indicates a ripening of the harvest field.
Athey Creek Church lined up top Christian musicians Chris Tomlin, Zach Williams, Cain, Taya, Anne Wilson and Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes.

“We’re overwhelmed by God’s goodness and the number of people who gave their lives to Christ,” said Pastor Meador. “Thank you for being part of what the Lord is doing in our city!”
“i got saved tonight and it was the best choice i have ever made!” one commentator said on InstaGram.
