In a month, 111,000 unique IP addresses downloaded, shared or distributed sex abuse and rape images of children under the age of 12 in the U.S. alone*.
Meanwhile, the federal government has only seven investigators to pursue these criminals. A bill to beef up the staff to 200 is languishing in congressional committees.
“On the other end of the red dots, there’s a boy or girl suffering on the other end,” said Tim Tebow, who after football took on their cause. “They’re not just downloading it. Fifty-five to 85% of them are also hands-on offenders. Your average offender has 13 victims in their (sic) lifetime.
“The #1 offender is biological fathers,” he added, talking to Shawn Ryan.
Before promoting the defense of exploited children, Tebow was a missionary’s son in the Philippines. His father, Bob Tebow, rescued children from sex slavery.

As a QB, Tebow won the Heisman trophy at the University of Florida in 2007. In the NFL, he played for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. He made famous the gesture of bowing in prayer to thank God any time he made a good play, which was ridiculed by secular people.
Once he left the NFL, Tebow launched a foundation to benefit special needs children. Of late, he is focusing on underage victims of sex abuse – a “rampant” problem in the United States, he says.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys suffer sex abuse at some point during their childhood.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, in 2020 alone, 21.4 million reports were received of suspected child sexual exploitation from various sources, including tech companies, law enforcement, and the public. This represents an increase of over 28% compared to the previous year.
The bill to strengthen investigative staff of the Child Exploitation Investigations Unit under Homeland Security Investigations is the Renewed Hope Act of 2024. Since being introduced in September of 2024, it has not made it out of committee.
There are other agencies, local and federal, that work on exploitation of minors. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program coordinates 5,400 federal, state and local authorities in the protection of kids.
“Our boys and girls in our backyard are being raped and abused?” Tebow says. “Let’s make the main thing the main thing. This should be the main thing.”
