As a part of the conflagration of the Iranian war, Shi’ites are skirmishing with Bahraini security forces in chaos on the streets.
“Bahrain is in big problem, a big trouble right now,” says UK reporter Mayhar Tousi. “The attacks on their country is is now on a whole new level.”
The eruption of violence in Bahrain is a warning for the world because Shi’ites are showing themselves to be loyal to the killed Ali Khamenei and violently opposed to their native countries. Some 60% of Bahrainis are Shi’ite but the governing class is Sunni, the branch of Islam like Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain is a staunch U.S. ally and host to the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet headquarters, which was struck by a ballistic missile. The Bahrainis have intercepted about 95 ballistic missiles and 164 drones, but drones managed to get through and strike an oil refinery, a desalination plant and buildings in Manama.

Shi’ite protesters have taken to the streets in several cities and villages, chanting slogans in solidarity with Iran and condemning the Bahraini government’s support for US and Israeli actions in the ongoing regional conflict.

Bahrain, with a population of 1.5M, is a series of small islands (an archipelago) off the Eastern Coast of Saudi Arabia. Because of its oil, Bahrain is wealthy by international standards but poor compared to other Gulf States. To protect itself against hostile Iran just 128 miles away across the Persian Gulf, Bahrain allied with the U.S. and signed the Abraham Accords with UAE in 2020 recognizing the legitimacy of Israel.
It has suffered the brunt, along with Kuwait, of Iran’s fury.
The Shi’ites are showing themselves to be willing to kill and be killed for their religion.
