Connecticut just added itself to liberal school districts teaching the positives Islam, thanks to a bill that was ramrodded through the legislature without giving parents a chance to voice concern.
The curriculum will likely glow about the Golden Age of Islam and its empires while skipping incendiary issues of terrorism, Israel, jihad, women’s rights and religious freedom, critics allege.
“While the funding will likely come from Qatar Foundation International (QFI), already invested in New Haven schools, or its affiliates, I note that QFI has a bad track record in separating fact from anti-Jewish propaganda,” said Mark I. Fishman, a lawyer from Fairfield.
Public Act 26-1 which calls for the creation of Islamic studies curriculum, for now to be used “voluntarily” by districts, was passed as an “emergency” measure, which shielded it from public comment.
So the bill got through without giving state residents a chance to question or oppose. Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding, R-Brookfield, said it “usurps the legislative process.” And Rep. Lezlye Zupkus (R) asked bluntly: “What is the emergency?”
Other liberal districts polishing the image of Islam include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Montgomery County of Maryland and Fairfax County of Virginia. All the positives come into focus like Muslim contributions in mathematics, medicine, philosophy, architecture and literature. Negatives are left out.
The trend of these curriculums follows in step with promoting diversity, like LGBTQ material. Leftists have generally buddy up with Muslims (NYC’s mayor Mamdani proves this). They see Christianity as a hostile and colonizing influence.
The programs get free funding from the Qatar Foundation International, which aims to win the hearts of the next generation for causes dear to hardcore Islam. In 2023, a QFI-funded school posted in a Brooklyn primary school classroom a map of the Middle East without Israel. Instead, Palestine was shown on the map instead.
“The fact that there is a map out there that does not represent what the world actually looks like is troubling. We’re giving children misinformation,” said Tova Plaut, a New York City public school instructional coordinator for pre-K through fifth grade.
Many Muslims hate Israel and Jews, calling the Holy Land theirs, despite the historical pre-presence of Israelites in the region — including Jesus.
Imam and imam crowed victory when Hamas invaded Israel, killing and raping. Within 24 hours, college students thronged universities justifying the war crimes and calling for the genocide of Israelis. Their slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” means you’re going to have to kill all Jews in Israel.
Whipping up anti-Jew sentiment plays out in real consequences. Elias Rodriguez is accused of killing Jews Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrimat outside Capital Jewish Museum of Washington D.C. on May 21, 2025. After shooting them, he shouted “Free Palestine!” according to reports. His trial is ongoing.
Promoters of pluralism say they want to counter bullying — and yes, we should oppose and prohibit bullying of anyone. But the danger is that we may push the pendulum to encouraging converts or promoting politics.
