On the same day Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, liberal college students jumped into action, doing Hamas’ PR, intimidating Jews, staging protests and encampments. “We are not just in solidarity with this movement. We are part of this movement. We are all operating under a unified command,” said a toolkit issued that day to members of Students for Justice in Palestine.
“They literally identify themselves as being members of Hamas,” Goldfeder says.
That toolkit was the basis for suing SJP on the grounds of “aiding and abetting” a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Mark Goldfeder hopes not only to bankrupt and dismantle SJP. He hopes to win the heart and minds of 90% of its members who have no idea what the river and what the sea are; they are just there for the free pizza or they’ve been told they’re doing a good thing.
“If you can get a court to explain to these kids that, hey, whether you realize it or not, you’ve actually been in bed with terrorists all this time, maybe you’ll save 90 % of our future congressmen, senators, or just, you know, your fellow citizens or your children’s classmates from accidentally engaging with terrorism and being completely brainwashed,” says Goldfeder, CEO and director of the National Jewish Advocacy Center.
The National Jewish Advocacy Center is exploring innovative applications of the law to cleanse the world of “pathological” ideologies, Goldfeder says.

When SJP chapters across America erupted with anti-Israel hate and pro-Hamas rhetoric, Goldfeder tweeted: “Cosplaying as terrorists is actually a crime.” A follow-up article for CNN was enough to persuade Florida to shut down all SJP chapters in the state.
Started by Professor Hatem Bazian at UC Berkeley in 1993, SJP has 350 chapters across America, Canada and New Zealand which organize protests, disrupt pro-Israel events and campaign for boycotting, divesting and sanctioning (acronym BDS) Israel over Gaza and the West Bank. They were a principal organizer of encampments on campuses.
SJP has been the unpaid PR firm for Hamas. The group massively recruits sympathizers with the plight of Palestinians but does not explain any truths from the side of Israel, which is seen as a racist, colonialist oppressor.
“This case is one example of many now where law is being used to correct public narratives, to seek justice for victims, and to push back against the rising tide of anti -Jewish violence, discrimination and even support for terrorism in America,” says Aylana Meisel, executive director of the Israel  Law and Liberty Forum.
SJP now appears doomed because they ran afoul of anti-terror legislation. They said they were working in coordination with Hamas and they did. When the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps called upon them to protest on April 17, they did. They received and acknowledge thanks from Hamas members, Goldfeder says.
It’s not just a matter of free speech. Under Holder vs. the Humanitarian Law Project, speech or advocacy in coordination with FTOs is considered material support, making it illegal and SJP liable. Holder expanded the Taylor Force Act, which sought to crack down on the Palestinian Authority’s pay-to-slay scheme giving stipends to terrorist for murder and mayhem in Israel.
Approximately 7% of the Palestinian Authority‘s budget — about $350M — goes to the so-called Martyrs Fund. For Islamists, a martyr is someone who kills in the name of Allah and gets killed. Whenever the West pressures Palestinians to rubbish its pay-to-slay scheme, they reshuffled and rename it to make it look legitimate social need.
Ultimately, Goldfeder aims to hold the PA and the Palestinian Liberation Organization be forced to pay huge sums of money for incentivizing terror and killing.

His organization has sued/ is suing:
- The Palestinian Liberation Organization for continuing to subsidize the killing of Americans. He’s using the Anti‑Terrorism Act and the Promoting Security and Justice for  Victims of  Terrorism  Act. He’s representing Stuart Force whose son Taylor, a 28-year-old U.S. citizen, veteran and West Point graduate was stabbed to death in Jaffa by a Palestinian terrorist. When Congress found out that the attacker’s family started receiving payments for killing an America, they were sickened and passed the Taylor Force Act of 2018.
- UNRWA USA for providing material support and aid to Hamas.
- Binance, a crypto exchange, for sending $900M in remittances to foreign terrorist organizations.
- The Associated Press for buying images from Gazan photographers it knew were “in bed with the terrorists.”
- The Palestine Chronicle for paying a “journalist” in Gaza Abdallah Aljamal who also held four Israeli hostages.
While politicians, podcaster and media propagate half-truths, it is expected the courts will depend on facts and administer justice. The lie runs ahead fast, but the truth always catches it.
