Influencer Yamilexis Fernandez escaped bondage pornography, witchcraft and Santeria, a syncretic witchcraft religion of the Caribbean and especially from Cuba.
Yamilexis lived in a Santeria house in Cuba, so she was immersed in the occult.
“They did a lot of witchcraft to me as a child,” she says. “I used to have very bad nightmares and my chest would feel like it was just closing in.”
Her took her to America along with her new stepdad and her new little sister.
“I would be left with my stepfather often, and he had a lot of pornography,” she says. “I was either six or seven when he started molesting me.”
Because of this, the only thing she felt for a long time was confusion.
“That whole season of my life just feels like such a blur,” she says.
Eventually, things got worse, from alcohol to physical abuse to her mom.
“It just got darker and darker every year to the point where I physically cannot take this anymore, like I’d rather not be alive than be in this house,” she says.
She told her mom what was going on with her stepfather and the next day, Yamilexis, her little sister, and her mom, all moved out.

Later on, Yamilexis would get into a serious relationship that would last over five years, but this relationship wasn’t very normal. Her boyfriend and his family were involved in Santeria.
“They would do like Ouija boards and everything you could think of like a cult, they were in it,” she said
Growing up as the oldest sibling, she felt responsible to help her family. She got involved in a business group to make money and was introduced to Jesus through the group.
“I was shaking and crying and I just called out to Jesus,” she says. “There was a little piece of me that just said, please be real.”
But she didn’t immediately shake off the practice of dabbling in porn. Fortunately, her mentor helped her compassionately and offered her service in the kingdom, which brings fulfillment. She continued to pray.
“I need you to help me break free from these bondages, this addiction, this depression,” she says. “I got up and I felt lighter.”
She started walking in victory. She shared her testimony on TikTok, and shared her testimony. Within a week, her video had 1M views, and then doubled the next week.
After receiving multiple DMs from other women struggling with the same issues like molestation, pornography, depression, etc, she felt a call to help them.
“The trajectory of my life changed because I surrendered fully to God,” she says.
“I’m the first Christian in my family and I thank God for that, he is the Father I always needed, God is a redeeming God,” she says.
Now married, Yamilexis Fernandez continues to use her platform on social media to represent those in pain and to help those in need of guidance.
