A former leader in the Church of Satan, Riaan Swiegelaar, is warning people, including many Christians, about the demonic realities of celebrating Halloween.
“What we are doing if we are celebrating Halloween as Christians, you are actually having a one-night stand with the devil,” he said. “That’s a simple way to put that.”
After having a hands-on experience with the Holy Spirit, Riaan became a born-again Christian, and he continues to share his testimony and warn people about the practices highly endorsed by the Church of Satan.
“I think an important thing to say to start with is that Anton LaVey, who was the original founder of the Church of Satan in the States in the late 60s, he had a very well-known quote where he said it makes him so happy to see that Christians are allowing their children to celebrate the devil one night of the year.”
Riaan mentions that throughout the past few years, people have been becoming more desensitized because of the culture and social media.

“Therefore, a very easy way to desensitize children to things like death and demons and gargoyles and you name it is something like Halloween,” he said. “And then furthermore, if we think of a neighborhood or an area where there are a few homes that are celebrating Halloween, that whole perimeter becomes a satanic ritual by definition.”
According to Riaan and his five years of experience working as a Satanist, the highest amount of human sacrifice is done on Halloween.

“There is and you will notice, for instance, that during the month of October, we see the most missing people cases or notices of the most missing people and especially the vulnerable parts of society, like the homeless and people like that, are definitely a target,” Riaan said on his interview with CBN News.
He also says that in the spirit world, blood is considered to be the type of currency.
“The purer a soul is considered to be, the higher the currency of that blood is,” he says.
Riaan now says that after being born-again and talking with the Holy Spirit, he realizes the importance of Jesus’s blood.
“The blood of Jesus is the highest currency in the spirit world. That is why it’s so powerful and why it covers everything,” he explains. “And obviously when we are in Christ, we are under that covering and we have that authority to pray in his name and to pray his blood, whether it is over, you know, our families or over ourselves; we have that authority.”
Riaan also adds that even the smallest gestures, like adding a skeleton to your front porch and candy, are enough to bring demonic spirits.
“People think, you know, it’s innocent with dress-up and costumes, but the true meaning behind it is to disguise yourself in a certain way to attract certain demons and to sweeten the situation up for children,” he said. “That’s why there’s candy.”
This leads Riaan to mention the importance of discernment for everybody, especially Christians who celebrate Halloween.
“Because if you have discernment and if you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will not partake in these things,” he says. “You cannot sit at the table of God or the kingdom of God and drink from a cup of another table.”
Riaan encourages people to pray and seek God about what they should be celebrating, because God created and advocates for life, while the devil brings death and suffering, which is what Halloween is most well-known for today.
Even though Halloween was originally taken from Hallow’s Eve, which was the night before All Saint’s Day, which was created by Pope Gregory III to honor the saints, it eventually merged with the Celts’ old tradition 2000 years ago, called the festival of Samhain, in which they dressed up in animal skins and heads and created a bonfire to celebrate what they thought was the day ghosts returned to Earth and what they thought was the best day to predict each other’s futures.

So even Halloween’s origin was partly demonic.
“And anybody watching this can think back when they had friends who went through hectic relationship trouble, when they had friends who went through sudden financial drama—all of it is in November and it is the aftermath of what is actually happening because of October and Halloween,” Riaan mentioned as his last point.
