New York City is having revival???
God is having a moment in many countries around the world: Germany, France, Scotland. People are getting baptized like crazy. buying and reading Bibles. Young people are going to church, sports figures are promoting God.
Now, the bastion of secularism, the cosmopolitan madhouse of mocking Christianity, NYC is experiencing a return to God
St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich Village hosts Sunday morning masses with standing room only, lines out the door, mostly young people in their 20s.
It’s a massive mass – about 1,500 attendees.
“This is the hottest club in NYC rn,” post Aubrey Strorbel on X.
“For 25 years, I did not go to church at all. I actually had a pretty negative view of the church,” a male parishioner agreed. “About a year ago, I came back to St. Joe’s, it shocked me. It was not what I expected at all.”
There are plenty of people willing to talk about their budding faith.
“Even when I talk to classmates who aren’t Catholic, they seem to have some kind of interest,” a parishioner says.
“St. Joseph’s is a slice of Heaven,” a parishioner says.
“It’s refreshing. There’s not a lot of places in New York where you step into a room and see a lot of people seeking the heart of God.”
“Spending time with God is so crucial, especially if you want to build a better life and gain fulfillment you can’t seek anywhere else on this earth,” another guy says.
Father Boniface Endorf comments that the revival is not exclusive to South Manhattan: “It’s a groundswell, not just here, but across the American church.”
