At the darkest moment in Jennifer Nizza-Hofacker’s life, the medium cried out, rather randomly, to Jesus.
“I knew it was Him. There was peace, and I felt peace,” Jennifer says. “But I didn’t understand the experience which left me spiritually vulnerable. I didn’t want to be a psychic anymore but I didn’t know why.”
For years, Jennifer had believed she was doing a good thing by conducting readings, chakra balancing and communicating with what she believed were the dead loved ones of her clients. However, amidst her psychic reading, her depression and eating disorder worsened.
When she was little, Jenn was introduced to the occult by her own family, who encouraged her to become a medium to channel between the physical and spiritual realms.
“In my home, it was very acceptable to talk about paranormal activity, what people commonly call ghosts, which, of course, were demons,” Jennifer said. At age 13, “I had my very first tarot card reading.”
She soon became enamored by the craft. She dreamed dreams that became reality the next day. She couldn’t stop herself from seeking out the next reading.
“It was a rabbit hole of destruction,” Jenns says. “I had my own tarot cards. I kept going for readings; I became addicted to it.”
Manifesting, chakra-balancing and tarot card reading were her bread and butter. She even branched out into teaching classes on the occult.
“I loved it all,” she remembers. “I loved that life.”
There were downsides to practicing the occult. She suffered an eating disorder and struggled with depression. Her daughter was frightened by paranormal activities at the house and developed anxiety.
At age 36, she was having some of the darkest points in her life. She spontaneously turned to Jesus.
“I was at the lowest of the low, the lowest moments of my life — one of the darkest moments,” she says. “My soul, my spirit, knew to cry out to Jesus. I needed Him.”
The peace she felt made her want to quit the occult.
A friend would invited her to church. She didn’t go, but her husband did. He came back glowing about the experience. A month later, Jenn accompanied him.
“I just woke up that day, and I said, ‘I don’t know why, but I want to go to that church today,’” she recalls.
“People were worshipping, their arms were up, the words were on the screen, it was so beautiful,” she remembers. “I’m singing Jesus save me. It was a flashback to that moment when I cried out to him months prior.
“All of the sudden I just knew that’s Him. He saved me. He saved my life eternally,” she adds. “This was really Jesus, this was really the Son of God. Wow. And I started crying.”
Now she tells everyone the truth about the Dark Side.
“I think the gravity of my salvation is so heavy,” Jenn says. “It compels me to constantly share the Gospel, constantly point to Christ. Even one person is ever reached by those videos, hearing the truth about the demonic nature, and they can get away from it, thank God..”
Jenn has books and online videos sharing her experiences.
“He let me get to the end of myself, rock-bottom,” she says. “He gave me another chance.”
