The Ethiopian Bible (officially the Ge’ez Bible) proves that Christianity is anything but the white man’s religion, or Europe‘s religion.
That’s because the Ethiopian Bible predates the Western canon by at least 200 years (perhaps 400).
Acts 8:26-40 says an Ethiopian official of Queen Candace‘s court converted to Christianity and brought the truth back with him.
So Christianity entered and conquered Ethiopia before becoming officialized by Constantine in the Roman Empire in the 4th Century.
The Ethiopian Bible, which includes Apocryphal books like Enoch and Maccabees, dashes the politicized hatred of Christianity as a colonizing, oppressive religion. It doesn’t belong to white man. It belongs to the black man from before Western Civilization achieved world dominance.
Why have these facts not been more widely known? Rome, seeking exclusive domain over Christianity, deliberately side-lined and downplayed Ethiopia’s role in Christianity. Western Civilization’s dominance led to world history written from the European optic.
Ethiopian Christianity got relegated, but it never disappeared. To this day, Ethiopia is a proudly Christian (65%) in a continent where Islam holds vast sway. Its branch of Christianity is called Tewahedo Orthodox, while Protestantism is the fastest growing.
Tewahedo adheres to the myaphysite view, or single nature of Christ (both his divine and human are fused as one nature). Its practitioners observe Kosher dietary restrictions, male circumcision and fasting. There are 88 books in the Ethiopian Bible (Protestants have 66 and Catholics have 73).
