“Stranger Things” star Caleb McLaughlin says he recently drew near to God. To help, he dumped his Instagram account.
“It’s a different level to me (now),” Caleb says. “Sometimes you live your life, and you kind of get into the world a little bit, and then you kind of stop praying. Sometimes you’re like, ‘Alright, I’m praying before I go to sleep. All right, great.’ But then you have those moments like, ‘Wait, I need to pray and talk to God and ground (myself).
“I’ve always felt the connection with God in my spirit from, I can’t even remember the day it started,” adds the 24-year-old actor, who plays Lucas Sinclair on the hit Netflix series. “I went to church a lot this summer with my family, and I deleted Instagram and got off social media and just started grounding myself a little bit more and talking to God more.
“It’s been really replenishing,” he says.
Caleb had an early breakout in acting. He stared in the “Lion King” on Broadway and then was cast for “Stranger Things” when he was only 13. He has performed in the movies Concrete Cowboy, The Book of Clarence and Shooting Stars.
His father is a pastor.
“I’m not just spiritual, I’m religious,” he quipped.
