If you happen to be contributing to the current toxic online and public movement of antisemitism, you have your part in the responsibility of the killing of 15 at a beach in Sydney Saturday.
Simply put, ideas have consequences.
We may embrace full-throttle free speech, but people are openly calling for the death of Jews worldwide. Many who are joining the currents in an adjacent capacity (meaning they stop somewhere short of calling for full annihilation of Jews) are just as guilty.
New York City outgoing Mayor Eric Adams explained: “That attack in Sydney is exactly what it means to globalize intifada. We saw the actual application of the globalization of intifada in Sydney. This attack did not come out of nowhere. It came out as a consequence of Islamic extremists. We have to be clear on that.”
Sadly, Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pronounced a speech of 5,000 words (counting question and answer) and could not say “Islamist extremism” or even “Muslim” once. He did, however, say right-wing extremism is a rising threat.
This is in line with progressives do: they don’t want to offend Muslims by naming them, so only the unspecific word “terrorist” gets used. But they have no problem calling out right-leaning people, even when clearly the dangers are coming from the Left and their cherished Muslim voting bloc.
So Gen Z, please be aware. You may wish to stand for justice. You may have gotten your news from short videos on TikTok that crop and cut scenes to raise empathy for the “oppressed” Gazans. You may want to be on the right side.
Do you realize, however, that many of those promoting the narrative are actually funded by Qatar, a nation with a strong streak of Islamism? The protesters who rally you to rise the cries, often, are paid by outsiders. And Students for Justice in Palestine are under direct control of terrorists.
A little bit of research could show you’re being played, but we leave that up to you. In the meantime, if you never really understood what “globalize the intifada” means, take a close look at the massacre at Bondi Beach Saturday. At least 15 were killed and 40 injured as a father-son team of Muslim immigrants shot only a Jews.
On Al-Jazeera‘s coverage of the Bondi killing, Muslim commentators praised the terrorists (from a post curated by Harris Sultan):
“Oh God, accept their deeds and raise their ranks in the highest heavens, and gather them with the prophets, the righteous and the martyrs. How excellent a company they are!” writes Adel Bouamra Souna.
“May God make you among the people of Paradise,” writes Mustafa Kamal Hamza.
“May God accept his martyrdom. He is a true here at a time when men are scarce,” writes Abdi Aden.
This is the crew you’re joining when you chant “globalize the intifada.”
