According to Antifa, they were just trying to protect trans kids from “hateful” Christians in Seattle. So on June 25, they threw balloons filled with urine at them. Then they threw Molotov cocktails at police. They beat up and bloodied Christians.
After extremist mayor blamed the Christians for the violence (21 Antifa were arrested, 0 Christians, 1 police officer sent to hospital) and vowed to block permits for future Christian events, the FBI opened an investigation of violence targeting Christians.
They might also investigate mob activities under the anti-organized crime RICO Act.
The rioting exploded over a worship service.
Yes, that was the act of “hate.”
Oh, before the worship service, organizers Pastor Russell Johnson and Evangelist Ross Johnston also had grocery give-aways and free haircuts and free bikes for the kids. And prayer.
Such hate.
While Ross was on the stage, he saw an Antifa rioter bum-rush him. Luckily, a member of the worship team tackled him.
“The worship evenr in Cal Anderson park has been labeled by the media as some sort of anti-LGBT rally. It wasn’t,” says Pastor Russell. “We were swarmed by 100s of Antifa militants. They were throwing water balloons filled with urine at Christians who stood in the park and were assaulted for the high crime of worshipping Jesus.”
Just an hour after the event ended, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell blamed the Christians for the violence in a statement, saying their values were antithetical to Seattle’s values.
Pastor Russell was incensed. So he staged a rally for free speech in front of City Hall Tuesday. He said 1,000s attended, many of them not even Christian.; they were just pro free speech.
“Antifa was out in force, they bloodied and beat up good church people who stood in line to get into a rally to sing hymns and worship songs,” Russell says. As seen in video footage, clashes with police included incidents of arson, vandalism and the throwing of Molotov cocktails at cops.
“Antifa is made up of petulant children who are grievance mongers who decide to perpetuate violence against people they disagree with,” Russell says. “In a place like Seattle, they are coddled and supported by people like Mayor Bruce Harrell.”
And they brought testimonies of people who had detransitioned. As children were receiving free haircuts, Antifa members shouted hateful comments, flipped off the middle finger and performed lewd acts in front of the kids, Russell says.
“It was people sharing hopeful optimistic outlook what it looks like when God begins a work in your life,” Russell says. “It wasn’t this Westboro Baptist hateful rhetoric.”
