A man in Sunderland, England, was attacking to rape a victim when Saudi student Hamzah Albar fought him off.
Ian Hudson, 42, was also held by Albar until police arrived and took him into custody last December, in a court case that was reported today in the Express.
“That night I honestly believe he would’ve killed me if the witness hadn’t come along,” the victim praised Albar.
The judge, Recorder David M Gordon, said: “I wish to formally commend Mr Hamzah Albar for his extraordinary courage and public-spiritedness. Mr Albar intervened without hesitation to prevent the rape of the complainant who was in clear and immediate danger.”
