Four Muslim leaders in Sweden reportedly embezzled collectively $100M in school vouchers and other government funding to pay for lavish lifestyles — including visits to sex clubs in Thailand — and founding a jihadist political party in Somalia.
Abdirizak Waberi, Somalian by birth Swedish by naturalization, was a member of parliament 2010-’14 and was principal of the independent Muslim school association Römosseskolan Association in Gothenburg, where he exploited Sweden’s generous voucher system to fund trips to luxury hotels in Nigeria and sex escapades in Thailand, as charged.
Part of the $1.2M ($13M Swedish krona) allegedly embezzled was sent to Somalia to found the sharia-implementing National Unity Party, of which Waberi is the leader. He was convicted in April 2022 to 4-and-a-half years in prison for gross embezzlement and gross bookkeeping offenses.
Meanwhile, extremist imams Iraqi-born Abu Rahad, Egyptian-born Abdel Nasser El Nadi and Middle Eastern-born Hussein al-Jibury collectively siphoned off $95M (100M SEK) through school voucher and welfare-bilking schemes. El Nadi reportedly transferred 4M krona to Malta before fleeing justice to Egypt.

“They ran schools and preschools that funneled tens of millions to Malta, private individuals, extremist groups, Somalia, and many other regions in the world that hate the West, hate Sweden,” said reporter Mahyar Tousi.
Court proceedings are ongoing.
