On the sand just on Mallorca’s nightlife zone, a group of Christians set up a concert on a platform, preached Jesus and led 100s of revelers to Jesus during two weeks this summer.
“First when they see us, they’re kind of perplexed because it’s the last thing they imagine to have somebody talk about Jesus right there,” says Gernot Elsner of Gospel Tribe. “They come back every night. They listen to the messages, to the testimonies. Some give their lives to Jesus and others are even baptized in the ocean.”
Gospel Tribe even hosted “party boat” tours. Normally the party boat tours on the Mediterranean are for music and drinking. But Gospel Tribe gives a soft presentation of the Gospel, and then the Christians among the sinners begin to share with them.

Jose from Switzerland is one of those who got baptized. “He went through a lot of bad stuff,” Gernot says. “Every night he came back, he brought his friends, he shared with them, ‘You need Jesus, too.'”
Some people are shocked to find Christians reaching out at the Mardi Gras-like scene. “Do you know where you are?” some ask, according to Gernot. “What are you doing in the party zone?”
Of course, not everyone is accepting. Some want nothing to do with the Gospel. Others listen, curious. Still others are so touched by the Holy Spirit that they confess their sins and repent. Even backsliders come out of the crowds and come to the cross, which they prop up in the beach sand.
Mallorca is an island and a state belonging to Spain off its Southern Coast. It’s a traditional party spot for Europeans. The guys who evangelize come from Germany, Switzerland and Spain. They work with local churches also.
