EPIC City, a Muslim community, being built in Texas

Fundamentalist Muslims are moving forward with plans to set up a Muslim community outside Dallas called Epic City, but ex-Muslims and Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas fear it will be a beachhead for the spread of Islam in the United States with setting up of Shariah Law.

“Some Islamists are lying about what Shariah Law entails,” says Abdullah Sameer, Your Friendly Ex-Muslim on YouTube, who broke from his normal lowkey presentation to criticize a certain defender who said Shariah is washing before prayer, praying five times a day and fasting during Ramadan.

Of course, Shariah includes those innocuous rituals. But it also includes beating wives*, forced covering of the woman from head to toe, unequal inheritance that favors males in, a downgrade of the sin of rape (Australian imam Mohamed Hoblos says rape is NOT as serious as missing prayer at the mosque).

Accordingly, Gov. Abbot is implementing every measure imaginable to halt or slow down the establishment of the 402-acre, $100M project with 1,000 homes, mosques and Muslim schools that touts itself as “meticulously designed community that brings Islam to the forefront.”

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened an investigation.

“Religious discrimination and Sharia Law have no place in the Lone Star State,” says Gov. Abbott. “Any violations of federal law must be swiftly prosecuted, and I know under the Trump administration, they will be. “

Behind the project is the mild-mannered, well-spoken Yasir Qadhi who is Islamic scholar at the East Plano Islamic Center. “We are not forming a cult,” the Pakistani American says. “We’re not forming big barriers between the rest of society. We’re going to be giving back to this state and this country, and we’re going to be showing what it means to be a Muslim neighborhood.”

Poised and polished, Qadhi also praises the Taliban, calls democracy “illegitimate,” says Christians are “filthy polytheists” whose lives “hold no value” and that Muslims will kill Jews in the “end times.”

The Council on American Islamic Relations called Gov. Abbott’s opposition “bigoted and baseless.”

Federal law prohibits discrimination in housing based on such things as race or religious affiliation. Accordingly, Community Capital Partners, the development group, modified language on their website that seemed to imply that assessments would exclude other religious groups.

Those who are alarmed by the development in East Texas, by and large, are concerned because of developments in Europe. In the UK for example, there are Muslim dominated neighborhoods, like East London, where CNN covered Islamic patrols shame or punish women for not wearing head coverings. When police try to enforce the law, sometimes they are overwhelmed and chased out by Muslim rowdies.

There are 85 Shariah Law courts set up in the UK, subverting British Law by adjudicating marriage, custody and inheritance outside the legal system. UK politicians are so dedicated to multiculturalism that they are allowing this incursion into British society and values, says former Muslim Ayaan Hirsi.

Shiite Sheikh Yasser al-Habib is training a militia and has raised £3.5 million to purchase the Scottish island of Torsa to set up his own little Islamic paradise of Sharia Law.

UK YouTuber Ali Dawah advocates for the killing of apostates, as soon as Shariah Law is established. Yes, Shariah Law includes that.

Asked on YouTube videos why they left the chaos of the Middle East and come to the West and try to establish the same (failed) system as the one they fled, refugees in London’s Speaker’s Corner say without duplicity that the whole world belongs to Allah. It is their right and obligation to establish Allah’s Shariah Law around the world.

“While the West promotes norms such as freedom of religion and pluralism, the Islamic bloc holds an entirely different worldview that has led to a clash in the West over ideas of liberty, freedom of expression, women’s rights, and the role of Christianity in the public square,” says Dominique Hoffman of the Philos Project.

“The West is at a tipping point, and the United States needs to learn from Europe before it is too late,” she adds.

As yet, no construction has begun, though some 500 people have reserved spots in the community. Progress now is only in the discussion and planning phases, and no permits have been granted yet.
