A prominent Jew and a moderate Muslim influencer both called on people in their countries to go to church.
“Go to church,” said Ben Shapiro, a heavyweight political influencer, founder of the Daily Wire.
Asked why he, a Jew, was telling Americans to go to church, he responded in his typical speedy laconic style: “This is a Christian country. I want Jews to go to synagogue, but there ain’t that many of us. If you’re a Christian or you grew up in a Christian household, even if you didn’t, go to church. Church is good for you.”
His urgings came in response to a question from Turning Point USA’s Alex Clark, “If you could offer one remedy to heal a sick culture… what would it be?”
Independently, over the United Kingdom, Lubna urged her subscribers on Nov. 11: “All fellow YouTubers and content creators who are afraid that Britain will no longer remain a Christian country, I urge you guys to maybe consider going to the church,” said Lubna Farhan.
The podcaster of Candid with Lubna filmed herself trying to go to church to pay her respects, but it appears she went on a day other than Sunday and, mystified, found the churches closed. Lubna recently moved out of Luton Town, a Muslim predominant neighborhood, because she faced threats from hardline Muslims after she repeatedly advocated from moderate Islam.
The exhortations from a Jew and a Muslim comes on the heels of the early 2000s in which strident atheist pushed for people to desert church and embrace a materialistic life. The atheists were at least partially responsible for the surge of the “nones” — people who adhere to no religion — in census data. The atheists rejoiced at the demographic change.
But what happened next wasn’t the utopia of science and rationalism that the prominent atheists expected. Instead in the U.S., progressives tormented Christian cake makers and insisted biological men should be in women’s sports and bathrooms. Meanwhile in the U.K., radical Muslims filled the void, fighting en masse to establish sharia law and pressure to let Muslims rapists slide by unpunished by the justice system.
The Atheistic Age of Aquarius fizzled.
A pushback is afoot. In the U.S., Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA reached out to and won over Gen Z. In the U.K., Tommy Robinson led protests 1M-strong to fight the “Islamification” of the U.K.
That’s how a Jew and a Muslim who wish to conserve Judeo-Christian values in the West urged people to go to church. Shapiro and Farhan have probably never met.
