Justin Bieber performed “Everything Hallelujah” in front of 2B viewers of the World Cup final halftime show — and of course Lefties are complaining.
“Justin Bieber just changed the whole energy of the half time show! Boo!” wrote one person on Threads.
“Justin Bieber singing ‘it’s my World Cup hallelujah’ was the moment I turned inside out from embarrassment,” another said.
“Buzz killer. Totally sucked. Why choose that song that nobody knows. Beyond me,” a third whined.
But for the performance of Shakira, BTS and Madonna, naturally they had only praise.
Bieber altered his song “Everything Hallelujah” to “World Cup Hallelujah.” “Everything Hallelujah” is a gospel-soul track released in September 2025 on Bieber’s album Swag II.
After his performance, global streams increased 110%, from 592,000 streams in the two days before the World Cup final to 1.25 million streams on the day of the final and the following day. Bieber’s song had the largest streaming increase of any halftime performer.
“Everything Hallelujah” climbed into the Top Five on the U.S. iTunes chart, reaching No. 4, its highest position there.
At Sunday’s final, Spain dominated to defeat Argentina 1-0 to win its second World Cup.
Justin Bieber was raised in a Christian home led by a single mother but fell away with this rise in the music industry. He got a DUI arrest in Miami in 2014, egged a neighbor’s house, was involved in public outbursts and vandalism and partied heavily. He sustained an on-again, off-again relationship with Selena Gomez.
Bieber says he felt empty, selfish, addicted to success and unable to find peace despite enormous wealth and fame during this time. Pastor Carl Lentz, then leading Hillsong New York, was instrumental in bringing the star back to Jesus.
In 2015-17, he publicized his re-commitment to Christ and got married to Hailey Baldwin, which brought stability. His talk about Jesus has not waned.
