Alisa Childers recommends parents don’t send their kids to Biola University, once a bastion of Biblical Christianity. She says Biola’s messaging is foggy about transgenderism. Biola may not be alone.
“We’re losing our way. We’ve dumbed down the definition of scripture. We no longer are claiming that it’s inherent. We’re apologizing for scripture. We’re deconstructing it,” says Dr. Everett Piper, who was president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University for 17 years. “To encourage this crisis of heart, mind and soul, I found to be very concerning.”

In a previous generation, Christian colleges were at the forefront of “deconstructionism,” the removing of miracles from the Bible. Now the academics at our institutions are bending to left and to progressive politics.
“In some parts of the university, there is a flowering of a more progressive, justice-oriented Christianity,” said a faculty who asked not to be identified in the Los Angeles Times. “In other parts, there is pushback, a fear of a liberal Christianity that strays from Biola’s conservative roots.”

The thing is this: parents enroll their kids and donors give because they’re trusting that the institution upholds Christian truths and values.
But if internally the faculty is undermining the mission, it is fraud.
Childers, the daughter of Jesus Movement pioneer Chuck Girard, originally was a member of She Christian pop group ZOEgirl, signed to Sparrow Records in 1999. She experienced a crisis of faith when a trusted pastor began to assail essential doctrines.
Out of the soul-searching and truth-sifting, she reaffirmed orthodox Christianity and wrote Another Gospel? A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity (2020) and Live Your Truth and Other Lies.
Because of the broken heart she got from the broken Gospel, she launched a YouTube channel to contend for sound doctrine.
