Breaking ranks with the the silent celebrities who only defend Palestinians, Dua Lipa has spoken up for the Iranian people.
“In Iran, we are seeing slaughter at a scale like never before,” the British-Albanian pop singer posted on Instagram under the title “Keep your eyes on on Iran.”
Previously, she spoke up for Gazans, accusing Israel of genocide, like so many other left-leaning celebs. But now the majority of those celebs who pride themselves for speaking for human rights are now silent while the oppressive Iranian regime have slaughtered tens of thousands of its own citizens (some estimates reach 90,000 dead).
Why do Leftists NOT stand with the Iranian people? There could be several reasons:

- Their worldview is white oppressor vs. people of color victim, which works against conservative politics in American and fits the Israel/Gaza conflict. You must, of course, ignore actual details (like Hamas started the war and targeted civilians), but simplicity makes it attractive. But in Iran, you have people of color oppressing people of color, so bewildered liberals don’t know what to think.
- The Iranian people love Israel (which bombed their hated government). Logically, anybody who stands with Israel is bad.
- The Iranian people love Trump, and everything Trump does is wrong, evil destabilizing and suspect.
- Left-wing funder Neville Roy Singham is notably absent from funding protests against the IRGC, as he does against Israel. No paid protesters? No protests. Singham is closely linked to the Chinese Communist Party, an ally to Iran.
In short, there are SIGNIFICANT reason to sit this one out, as has done Ariana Grande, Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes, Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde, Cynthia Nixon, Jane Fonda Javier Bardem, Amal Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Greta Thunberg (the last is no celeb).
Meanwhile, the United States continue to move military assets toward Iran readying for a massive and decisive strike. A MC-130J Commando II reportedly landed in Azerbaijan, north of Iran. Designed for infiltration/exfiltration and operational missions, the MC-130J the can move in Delta Force teams, like the one that extracted Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela.

Additionally, F-35A stealth fighters, F-16s, F-22s and F-35 fighters are being moved to within striking distance.
An Iranian government jet flew to Moscow. No one knows what was on the flight, but it’s doubtful that the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was aboard. His disappearance would finalize the regime’s collapse.
In some areas, demonstrators have retreated to their homes while the regime sent Arab militia into the streets with military machine guns mounted on jeeps to slay hundreds and thousands. But in Mashhad, protesters contended with militia for control of the city.

The Iranians, without arms, are fighting with dances and songs. At funerals, people are dancing in defiance; they’re not succumbing to grieving and blaming but seem to understand that lives must be sacrificed for future generations to enjoy freedom.
On Jan. 13, President Trump urged protesters to stay in the streets, posting “Help is on the way!” More protesters were killed after that post than before.

What’s at stake: Replacing the regime is a tantalizing opportunity to squash worldwide terrorism. The starting point for a lot of world terror is Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran funded the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Iran funded Houthi missile fired on shipping lanes. Iran funded Yemeni terror against Saudi Arabia. Etc. etc.
But Trump will be extremely reluctant to put boots on the ground inside Iran — after America’s catastrophic failures of nation-building in Afghanistan and in Iraq. A quick blitz inside Iran, like in Venezuela, is another matter.
Dua Lipa might find herself praising Trump, which would be quite a reversal for the bitter criticism of his sponsorship of Israel in its war (she calls in genocide) against Hamas.
