By Kirollos Abadalla —
TWO DAYS after Gaza attacked Israel and killed 1,200 civilians, outraged protesters in Sydney rallied at the Opera House, shouting (as was widely heard) “Gas the Jews!”
Now — again in Sydney — a father-son team shot and killed 15 Jews at Bondi Beach (wounding 40 or so others) at a Channukah by the Sea event.
What is there so much Jew-hating in Sydney?
It happens to be the largest Muslim population by percentage (6.3% or 329,566 people by the 2021 census) of Australia. And nowadays anyone can get radicalized anywhere via the internet.
But there’s another connection: Wisam Haddad, a pro-Islamic State preacher who regularly extols killing Jews in his sermons at the Al Madina Dawah Centre in Bankstown of Sydney.

Australian anti-terror units have tracked him for years; he spews hate while (barely) staying within legal limits. Under the Western value of free speech, he is undercutting Western values. They call him “lawful but awful.”
“He skates the edge of violent extremism and hate speech,” said John Coyne, counter terrorism expert. “He’s always very careful to not spill over the other side, but he his a preacher of hate.” He urges his listeners to do jihad.
An anti-terror operative codenamed “Marcus” infiltrated the Al Madina Dawah Centre. Inside, “you think you are in an ISIL (ISIS) camp in Syria or Iraq,” he told journalists. “The materials of ISIL, the videos, the songs of ISIL, they are aware of all this information.”

Naveed Akram, 24, the son of the double hitman team, was a follower of notorious jihadist preacher. Of course, Wisam Haddad denies any connection with the terror attack.
Wisam is just the theological justification and inspiration, not the nuts and bolts training. For training, Naveed and his father traveled to the Philippines to a secret ISIS camp to train. Then the returned and with six legal rifles (licensed under Australia’s “strict gun control laws” for hunting), they hunted Jews.
Naveed was known to authorities for being a fanboy of Wisam. How then did the terror-monitoring system NOT trigger a warning that his father, Sajid Akram, 50, an Indian immigrant, should have his guns confiscated?

And why can’t authorities grant the authority to take down the point of inspiration, like Trump did amplifying the FBI’s authority to foil terror threats (like they did in Los Angeles just recently)?
Why do authorities permit brazen Jew hatred? There is no need for any more evidence about how dangerous it is.
Ultimately, police denied what was heard on videos of the Opera House protest; they said it was “Where’s the Jews?” not “Gas the Jews.”
Now 15 people are dead. It’s time to stop appeasing a certain population who votes for Labour Party in exchange. It’s time to save Australian lives.
