Hamas kills aid workers, injures two Americans

The Gazan Humanitarian Foundation has accused Hamas of killing 12 aid workers to prevent them for distributing food to hungry Gazans.

“It’s an unthinkable situation,” said Shimon Myers, CEO of Arise Foundation. “There’s a humanitarian crisis where people need food, need medical care, etc., and your own government is standing in the way of you receiving that care. Not only are they standing in the way of it, they’re killing the people that are trying to bring you that aid. They put a bounty on their head. Hamas is in no way concerned with the well-being of
the citizens of Gaza.”

Then on July 5, Hamas operatives threw a ball-bearing hand grenade into GHF station and injured two American aid workers who are “highly decorated veterans,” the group reported.

The Gazan Humanitarian Foundation is supported by Israel and the United States and has been accused of being a cover for Israeli military operations in the Gaza. But Hamas also could be motivated to do the attack and then blame the Israeli Defense Federation, a common Hamas tactic

The GHF has distributed 33.5 million meals to hungry Gazans who form long lines, despite reports that the IDF has killed innocent hundreds of civilians around the center — a version contested by GHF. “It is unfortunate that both (Al Jazeera and the U.N.), especially the UN, continue to push false information regarding our operations,” GHF issued in a statement. “Violent incidents did NOT occur near our sites but occurred at United Nations convoy sites.”

Other aid groups, collaborating with the Hamas government, have had almost all their aid stolen, GHF says.

“I am sorry to say also that today’s terror attack on Americans is partly a byproduct of the legitimacy that many in the press and at the [U.N.] provide to Hamas —amplifying Hamas’s lies about GHF every day, but also actively collaborating with Hamas,” GHF Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore wrote on X.

“The Hamas terrorist organization and other terrorist groups in Gaza continue efforts to sabotage and fail the distribution of humanitarian aid at the distribution sites and on the way to them,” IDF International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani wrote in a statement. “IDF troops facilitated a safe evacuation for further medical treatment. The Hamas terrorist organization and other terrorist groups in Gaza continue to harm the Gazan civilians.”

Hamas conflates its death tolls and blames the IDF when anything goes wrong.

In October 2023, an errant Hamas rocket launched at Israel fell near a hospital and killed a dozen Gazans. The Gazan Health Ministry reported to the world that it was an Israeli bomb that fell on the hospital and killed 500 civilians. The New York Times and other news organizations too eagerly lapped up whatever milk Hamas pour into their bowl.

Months later, an independent study established the facts and discredited the Hamas propaganda, but by then the news cycle had moved on to fresh accusations of foul play by the Israelis, showing the importance of paying attention to where you get your news from.
