Every time archaeologists unearth a shard of Biblical history, it sends “shockwaves” through Israel’s enemies who wish to deny that the Jews were the original inhabitants of the land, a new book says.
A seal from Jucal (Jer. 38:1) and a golden bell from the high priest’s garments are among the treasure trove dug up archaeologists in the last 20 years to confirm the Bible and the Jews’ right to the land, showcases When the Stones Speak: The Remarkable Discovery of the City of David and What Israel’s Enemies Don’t Want You To Know.
“We have the seal from the Bible from the book of Jeremiah of the minister of King Zedekiah who tried to kill the prophet. Jucal ben Shelemiah’s name was found on a tablet that was written 1,200 years before Islam,” says the book’s author, Doron Spielman.

“If you’re Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood and you’re teaching an entire generation of Palestinians and Arabs throughout the Middle East that the Jews are colonizers in their land, how can I be colonizing my land if I was here thousands of years before Islam was even created?” adds Spielman, an Israeli Defense Forces spokesman.
A lot of the recent discoveries are coming from the City of David, which is outside, to the East the “Old City” of Jerusalem in the Arab neighborhood of Silwan.
Jucal’s seal was discovered in 2005, and the golden bell was dug up in 2011. Worn on the hem of the robe of the priest according to Exodus 28, the bell could be heard outside the Most Holy Place to alert people outside that he was moving around performing his duties (and hadn’t been killed by God for some sin).

The excavated bell had fallen into a drainage channel outside the Temple.
“We (Israelis) were here from the time of the Bible. We are living a continuum in the state of Israel today,” Spielman says. “This country is not 77 years old. It’s 3,000 years old.”
