Adrien was dying, paralyzed and blind in the hospital bed. As her breathing was stopping and her liver shutting down, the doctor said there was no hope.
But a pastor and his wife came to visit Adrien. “Jesus is alive,” the pastor said. “Jesus has taken your sin away. He had taken Israel’s sin away. He died, paid the price. You have to repent so that your name may be written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
A descendent of Holocaust survivors, Adrien rejected Jesus. He was a statue in Rome, she thought. “I didn’t even want to hear Jesus’s name,” she says, via translation on So Be It!
“But inside there was a voice that said, ‘I am the King! Come home,’” she says. “There was fire inside of me.”
“I do believe in Jesus,” she said. “Jesus entered my heart.”
The pastor and his wife prayed for her, laying on hands. “I felt this fire in my legs,” Adrien says.
“In the name of Jesus, stand up and walk,” the pastor said.
Adrien took her legs out of the hospital bed and stood up. “Jesus walked in me,” she says.
She was healed to walk but not yet to see.
That came a while later when she listened to American evangelist Marilyn Hickey on the television.
“Marilyn Hickey stopped the teaching and said, I need to pray for someone that is blind. I need to pray for that person so that he (sic) may be healed,” Adrien relates. “I saw fire floating through my eyes. After a minute, I was able to see.”
“The doctor examined me and he was surprised,” she says. “This professor thought I was already dead. In the medical report she said I was healed and that as a result her worldview had changed. Since then she has come to a born-again consciousness.”
