In 2010, the United Nations brought cholera to Haiti. More than 820,000 people got infected, and 10,000 died.
In 1994, UN peacekeeping forces were in Rwanda but did nothing to stop the killing of 800,000 un 100 days. They followed up that catastrophe the next year by allowing 8,000 Muslim men and boys to be slaughtered inside its safe zone in Bosnia.
UN workers have sexually abused in Congo and elsewhere. Pretty much nothing has been done to stop it.
In July 2025, the UN blasted Israel for committing “genocide” (using the term 57 times) in a 37-page report that failed to mention “Hamas” or “terrorism” even once; it turned a blind eye on normal wartime scenarios like unconditional surrender and ongoing aggression from Hamas.
Now add to the incompetent bumblings and infuriating political partisanship a new outrage: After the Iranian Regime killed some 30,000+ of its unarmed citizens, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres sent a letter to Iran’s president congratulating him on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He wished President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran “warmest congratulations.”
As blood flowed, the U.N. glowed with praise for tyranny.
This is beyond head shaking or eye rolls. This is tears streaming. And yet, leftist are up in arms over President Trump’s cutting funds to the international organization that was formed after WW2 supposedly to end wars.
Clench your teeth but don’t close your eyes: It could worse. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is slated after Feb. 23 to come and talk at the Human Rights Council in Geneva. What can we expect from a lecture of the killer Iranian Regime on human rights?
At the fantasmagoric U.N., anything is possible.
UPDATE: After intense pressure, the U.N. canceled Abbas Araghchi’s visit to to the Human Rights Council. Also apparently an order to arrest him in Switzerland was given, per Tousi T.V.
